Sierra Senior Providers, Inc.’s Meals on Wheels program offers home-delivered, balanced and nutritious meals to qualified seniors 60 years of age and older.

What is Meals on Wheels
Sierra Senior Providers, Inc (SSPI) offers home delivered, balanced, nutritious and delicious meals to seniors 60 years of age and older who are unable to drive, shop or cook for themselves. Food is prepared and packaged by the Meals on Wheels staff in the kitchen facility at the Senior Center in Sonora, CA.
Delivered meals are based on a pre-set menu that has been reviewed and approved by the Registered Dietitian. Each meal consists of protein entree, two servings of vegetables, one serving of fruit; and two servings of whole grains such as bread, rice or pasta along with fortified milk.
Vegetarian meals are available and serious food allergies can be accomodated.
Eligibility and Enrollment for Meals on Wheels
Please call the Senior Center at (209) 533-2622 to determine if you or a loved one are eligible to receive Meals on Wheels. A member of the team will conduct a phone interview to process your request and confirm eligibility. Meals will be delivered as soon as possible upon confirmation of eligibility.
Funding
The Meals on Wheels program is funded through state and federal government grants, public and private foundations, partnerships with local businesses, individual donations and from clients receiving Meals on Wheels.
There is a suggested contribution of $4.50 per meal, but no Senior will be denied a meal due to their inability to contribute.
